High Flying Foods is looking for a Line Cook to join our team at Bankers Hill Restaurant located at San Diego International Airport. You will join a dynamic and positive team environment, maintaining the highest standards of service and operational excellence. Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare, cook, and plate food to order according to our recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Follow safety protocols and kitchen practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates. 
  • Set up and maintain an organized, clean kitchen station daily, ensuring all ingredients, tools, and equipment are stocked and ready for service. 
  • Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain the quality and freshness of our products. 
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning. 
  • Complete prep lists and other kitchen checklists to ensure all tasks are handled before service begins. 
  • Execute cleaning duties as assigned to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment. 
  • Communicate with the manager at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure smooth operations and that all tasks are completed. 
  • Perform any other tasks as required to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. 

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience working as a line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, managers, and customers 
  • Ability to memorize and follow recipes, accurately measure ingredients, and adhere to food preparation guidelines 
  • Demonstrated skill in knife handling and proficiency with kitchen equipment 
  • Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices 
  • A valid Food Handler’s Card (or willingness to obtain during training as required by law) 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and kneel for duration of shift 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain composure in a fast-paced setting while ensuring high-quality results
